Here at Act On Info we love Shakespeare and in particular we love helping young people to get beyond the language barrier, understand the stories and realise just why Shakespeare’s plays are still relevant today. Love and hate, magic and the supernatural, tricks and jokes, murder and madness, what’s not to love about Shakespeare?
Our practical workshops allow pupils to develop a greater understanding of Shakespeare’s stories and characters, and to understand the text through both watching it performed and performing themselves. Our drama workshop includes a short performance of a Shakespeare scene by our professional actor/s, then innovative and engaging drama games and techniques to study the play in detail.
We look at:
- The themes and symbolism
- The rhythm and use of language
- The characters and their motivations
Depending on your students’ knowledge of a play, our Shakespeare drama workshop can offer a first introduction, a more in-depth insight or a fun conclusion to studying a particular play.
