We’re already thinking about World Book Day next year as we’ve just decided this week what shows we will be delivering for our literacy tour in March 2019. It’s very exciting! With this in mind we were looking up our favourite authors and found out an interesting fact about Roald Dahl.
Dahl’s first piece of writing for children was a novel called The Gremlins in 1943 the story is about creatures responsible for mechanical failures on aeroplanes, garnered during his time in the RAF. The Gremlins was first published as a book by Walt Disney, who decided to turn it into a film. It is thought that the 1984 film Gremlins, directed by Joe Dante and produced by Steven Spielberg, is loosely inspired by Dahl’s story! Isn’t that odd?
If you want to find out what we’re so excited about creating next year take a look at out Literacy Tour page for more details and to book our excellent literacy tour, but get in quick as we get booked up very far in advance!
