Our pencils are sharpened, we have new shoes and school has started again! We’ve had a busy summer delivering WWI centenary projects at the National Memorial Arboretum which was a site specific piece for the centenary and the children who took part really did themselves and the site proud. We’ve also been delivering lots of Play in a Day for high schools as part of their summer schemes.
This year its all change in the national curriculum and we have been busily writing a whole host of new drama workshops for schools and play in a day for schools to reflect that. Its given us a chance to learn lots of new things whilst researching our history play in a days and history drama workshops all about Anglo Saxons, Ancient Sumer, the Mayans, the Stone Age to the Iron Age, WWI and The Battle of Hastings. We’ve also added some new science based play in a days – Earth and Space, Human Beans and Life Cycle TV! We have lots of exciting projects coming up this year including working on issues around teenage relationship abuse, forced marriage and female genital mutilation. We are also looking forward to anti-bullying week this year with the theme – “Lets Stop Bullying For All” with our brand new anti-bullying drama workshops and anti-bullying play in a day, we are already receiving booking for anti-bullying week so if you would like us to visit your school do get in touch earlier rather than later. We will also be back on tour covering various different topics from energy saving to Shakespeare so keep an eye on the Tours section of our website to keep up with our national and international tours this year.
Thinking ahead and we hate to say the C word but it is looming so if your school want a quick and easy school show option this C (!) take a look at our Panto in a Day – oh yes we can! Keep your eyes peeled as soon with help from our tech team we will be selling play scripts for schools to buy and put on themselves.
