From Superheroes to Knobbly Knees

Hello all, we hope you are all well, we’ve been busy busy bees as usual and can’t believe we have had half term already! Or as one teacher said to us the other day – “Only 4 weeks till the Easter holidays!” Ahem. Personally, we prefer the term time – honest!  We had a fantastic time last half term delivering drug awareness and anti-bullying workshops in high schools and everything from Superhero drama workshops to Alice in Wonderland play in a day to  peer pressure forum theatre workshops in primary schools. Phew! But where do the knobbly knees come in I hear you ask? Well here you go,  to keep you all amused heres a picture of Grandads knobbly McWobbly knees from last weeks Powerdown tour in Peterborough, once again Grandad, Mum and Poppy are teaching the children of Peterborough all about saving energy!

This half term we are on to the more serious buisness of our Free 2 Choose project, working with four schools in Manchester on the subject on forced marriage, the culminaton of which will be a young persons conference at the end of this month with over 100 young people attending. We’ve been so impressed so far with the young people involved engaging with the serious subject so creatively and can’t wait for the conference.

We are also heading down to Newport to do some work with year 9 – 11 pupils on the subject of teenage pregnancy. But don’t worry – its not all serious as this week as our team will mainly be being Space Pirates in order to spread the message about renewable energy!  Do get in touch if you would like us to visit your school and deliver one of our drama workshops – we look forward to hearing from you!
